Two batches of GAD Orientation were conducted on April 10 and September 24, 2019, with the participation of 25 male and 28 female DOF employees.
The discussion on the differences of sex and gender, sex roles and gender roles, gender equity and gender equality, helped the participants be familiarized with certain gender issues and how these can be addressed and challenged by both men and women. The Manifestations of Gender Bias was also presented and discussed which helped the participants become aware of the various gender-related issues and how can GAD helps in removing explicit, implicit, actual, and potential gender biases in the Organization and programs, projects, activities (PPAs) of those who are concerned with development.
A common understanding of the key concepts of GAD as they related to finance was obtained through various exercises and presentation of the Women’s Empowerment Framework.
