3 February 2017, Manila, Philippines – Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III swore into office erstwhile National Treasurer Roberto Tan as the new president of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) making way for the appointment of Rosalia de Leon as the new National Treasurer.

The Monetary Board (MB) placed the Rural Bank of Burauen (Leyte), Inc. under the receivership of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) by virtue of MB Resolution No. 1922 dated December 4, 2014. As Receiver, PDIC took over the bank on December 10, 2014.
CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION AND INFORMATION-SHARING. The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) and the Deposit Protection Agency of Thailand (DPA) signed an agreement on cross-border cooperation and information-sharing on November 20, 2014 at the PDIC Office in Makati City. Cristina Que Orbeta, the Officer-in-Charge of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) since July 30, 2014, has been elected by the PDIC Board as President of the Corporation on November 12, 2014. She was earlier appointed as member of the PDIC Board by President Benigno S. Aquino III, vice former President Valentin A. Araneta who was appointed member of the Monetary Board. Ms. Orbeta is the 11th President of PDIC and the first lady President of the state deposit insurance agency.
