Trade and Industry Secretary Fred Pascual; Mr. Enrique Razon, Jr., Prime Infra Chairman of the Board; Representatives from Ahunan Power Incorporated and Olympia Violago Water Power, Incorporated; Ladies and gentlemen: good morning.

First of all, I congratulate our partners from Prime Infrastructure Capital, Ahunan Power, and Olympia Violago Water Power for delivering projects that bring our nation closer to a net-zero future and ensure energy security for every Filipino.

Today’s Green Lane Awarding Ceremony is a resounding testament to the Marcos Jr. administration’s strong determination to move faster towards a cleaner energy nation and establish the Philippines as a renewable energy investment hub in Asia.

The Pakil project in Laguna alone is expected to be one of the largest pumped storage power plants in Asia. Similarly, the Wawa project in Rizal represents a cornerstone of our nation’s strategic power generation infrastructure.

Together, they promise not only lower electricity prices but also a reliable power supply for generations of Filipinos while providing job opportunities for the local communities.

More so, these projects will accelerate the realization of our ambitious goal of increasing the share of renewable energy in our power generation mix from 21 percent in 2020 to 35 percent by 2030 and 50 percent by 2040.

With this, I thank Prime Infra, led by a true patriot and visionary Mr. Enrique Razon, Jr., for its commitment to building infrastructure projects that support our urgent sustainability priorities, especially in energy.

Thank you for ensuring that your investments are socially relevant, bring meaningful impact to the lives of our people, and help us achieve inclusive economic prosperity for all.

Rest assured, the Department of Finance will continue to work hand in hand with the private sector to foster an enabling environment where strategic, innovative, and sustainable projects like these can thrive.

Once again, congratulations and I am eager to see both of these projects bear fruit on the ground in 2030.

I look forward to replicating these projects in every corner of the Philippine archipelago to ensure that every Filipino home has a brighter future ahead.

Maraming salamat at mabuhay po kayong lahat.
