Seventh meeting of the Philippines-Japan High-Level Joint Committee on Infrastructure Development and Economic Cooperation
Philippine economic managers and key members of the Duterte administration’s “Build, Build, Build” team led by Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III and high-level officials from the Government of Japan led by Dr. Hiroto Izumi, Special Advisor to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, meet in Osaka, Japan Thursday (February 21) for the seventh meeting of the Philippines-Japan High-Level Joint Committee on Infrastructure Development and Economic Cooperation.
The Philippine and Japanese officials discussed ways of further expanding economic cooperation between their two countries, particularly on infrastructure development and on peace-building initiatives for Mindanao. Both sides also discussed the status of the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Marawi City, and progress on various areas of sectoral cooperation such as regional development, information and communications technology, energy, agriculture, environment, public safety, disaster prevention, and healthcare.
