DOF sustains ISO certification, proof of good governance and public service excellence

The Department of Finance (DOF) has successfully sustained its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification for eight years, affirming its consistent compliance with global standards and proving its commitment to good governance and efficient public service delivery.

An ISO certification validates that a management system, process, service, or documentation procedure has met all the global requirements for standardization and quality assurance.

The ISO is an independent, non-governmental, international organization that develops standards to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of products, services, and systems.

“This stamp of approval from the ISO is evidence of the kind of public service that we at the DOF are committed to delivering. Sa DOF, walang puwang ang pwede na. Dapat naayon lahat sa global standards. Our people deserve nothing less than services of the highest quality, at iyon ang patuloy nating isinusulong,” Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto said.

“Congratulations to my hardworking DOF family for yet another job well done. Dahil sa inyong sipag at dedikasyon, napapadali at napapaganda natin ang serbisyo at transaksyon para sa taumbayan,” he added.

The ISO 9001:2015 Certification for its Quality Management System (QMS) is the most widely recognized quality management standard in the world. Achieving this certification means the organization has consistently met strict requirements and delivered services that satisfy both the public and regulatory rules.

As part of the certification process, an external team regularly conducts surveillance audits to verify ongoing adherence to ISO standards. The third Surveillance Audit on the DOF was conducted from September 17 to 18, 2025.

The DOF’s core processes that were audited under the ISO certification covered the granting of tax exemptions on importations by the Revenue Office (RO), the support services provided by the Policy Development and Management Services Group (PDMSG), and the functions of the Legal Affairs Office.

For the second quarter of 2025, the DOF earned an outstanding overall feedback score of 99.55% in the service quality dimension.

The DOF first earned its ISO 9001 certification (2008 version) in 2017, covering the core processes of the RO and the Municipal Development Fund Office (MDFO).

Later that same year, the DOF secured certification under the updated 2015 version of ISO 9001 standard, demonstrating its continued commitment to quality management and process improvement in its key service areas.

The DOF has consistently maintained this certification through successful recertification audits conducted in 2021 and 2024, alongside annual surveillance audits.
