The Department of Finance (DOF) and its attached agencies have adopted a uniform special work arrangement to support the continuous delivery of public services, while advancing government-wide energy conservation efforts.

The effort is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s directive for government agencies to reduce actual electricity and fuel consumption by 10% to 20% amid ongoing global economic disruptions.

Under the arrangement, employees will report on-site from Monday to Thursday, and work from home (WFH) on Fridays, beginning March 9, 2026.

The uniform work arrangement will be implemented across the DOF and its attached agencies, namely the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Bureau of Customs (BOC), Bureau of the Treasury (BTr), Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Insurance Commission (IC), Philippine Tax Academy (PTA), National Tax Research Center (NTRC), Privatization and Management Office (PMO), and the Central Board of Assessment Appeals (CBAA).

Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go said the policy underscores the Department’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted public service delivery, as the DOF stands alongside the rest of the government in conserving energy and managing public resources responsibly.

“Our priority is to maintain continuous and efficient public service for the people,” Secretary Go said. “At the same time, through coordinated action across the DOF and its attached agencies, we are supporting the government’s broader push for energy efficiency, responsible resource use, and fiscal discipline.”

The DOF will continue working closely with its attached agencies to ensure the smooth implementation of this policy and the uninterrupted delivery of public services.

Issued on March 6, 2026, Memorandum Circular No. 114 directs all government agencies to adopt energy-saving measures, including work arrangements that reduce electricity and fuel consumption.
