BIR Padlocks POGO SERVICE PROVIDER for failure to register as VAT taxpayer

The BIR in coordination with the Department of Finance (DOF) through its Task Force POGO enforced another closure and shutdown of the operations of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) service provider for violating Section 115(b) in relation to Section 236 of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997, as amended (Tax Code).

Closed today is the head office and branch of ALTECH INNOVATIONS BUSINESS OUTSOURCING located at the Aseana City, Parañaque and its Pasay City branch respectively. It is a single proprietorship owned by Jan Erick Lavariaz Altavas.

Results of the investigation showed that ALTECH INNOVATIONS BUSINESS OUTSOURCING is not registered for VAT purposes as certified by the Revenue District Office No. 052 – Parañaque City in violation of Section 108 vis-a-vis with Section 236 of the Tax Code.

The Closure Order was effected by Deputy Commissioner for Operations Group Arnel SD. Guballa.
