The Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) along with other relevant agencies signed on Thursday (July 11) the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the First-Time Jobseekers Assistance Act or R.A. 11261.
Under the law, Filipino citizens seeking employment for the first time will be able to secure pre-employment requirements from government agencies and offices free of charge. These include the barangay certificate and clearance for first-time jobseekers, birth and/or marriage certificates, applicable police clearance, NBI clearance, and other documents which may be required by employers. This is expected to benefit about 1.3 million first-time jobseekers per year.
