QUEZON CITY – With growing concern on how to raise more revenues that will support the nation’s expenditures especially for the rehabilitation of calamity-stricken areas like Tacloban City and other Visayas areas, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) through Revenue Region (RR) No. 7, Quezon City headed by Regional Director Jonas DP. Amora sued six (6) of its delinquent taxpayers for unpaid deficiency taxes amounting toP57.30 million.

The Philippines and Germany recently signed a renegotiated version of the Double Taxation Agreement between the two countries, otherwise known as the Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income and Capital, in Berlin, Germany on 9 September 2013.
As part of continuing efforts to reform the Bureau of Customs, Customs Commissioner Rozzano Rufino B. Biazon directed all personnel of the Bureau, regardless of rank, position, designation and current assignment, are ordered to return to their mother units. Their current designations or assignments are likewise revoked.
