Iloilo residents can access birth certificate and other civil registry services, tax assistance, government contributions, social protection, health, livelihood, agriculture and financial services in one venue as the Department of Finance (DOF) brings its expanded Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations’ (GOCCs) Service Caravan to Iloilo City.

Two days of convenience set for October 6 to 7 at the Fountain Area of Robinsons Iloilo, the Caravan, which is also DOF’s one of the flagship projects, will bring together 19 participating government agencies, including five agencies joining the initiative for the first time.

The event is open to the public, with free entrance and no registration required. Iloilo residents may simply walk in, bring their concerns and necessary documents, and connect directly with the participating government agencies.

“The purpose of the GOCCs’ Service Caravan is to bring essential government services closer to our people. We want to make the government more accessible to the communities we serve. We invite our kababayans in Iloilo and nearby areas to visit the Caravan, learn more about the services available to them, and connect directly with our government agencies,” Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go said.

To meet the high demand, the Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) will once again offer their frontline services at the Iloilo leg.

SSS members can seek assistance with account updates, registration, benefits, loans, retirement, and other member concerns. The PSA will provide National ID registration and civil registry services, giving residents access to essential identification and civil documentation assistance in one venue.

The BIR will assist taxpayers with Tax Identification Number (TIN) issuance, general tax inquiries, and digital taxpayer services, including Online Registration and Update System (ORUS) account creation and digital ID generation.

Like SSS, members of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) can also seek assistance on account updates, registration, benefits, loans, retirement, general inquiries, and other member services.

Iloilo residents can also process Postal ID applications, postal and logistics services and mails and parcel tracking from the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost). Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will conduct an information drive on motor vehicle registration, driver’s licenses, and law enforcement services.

Beyond basic government transactions, the Caravan will also connect entrepreneurs, workers, farmers, and families with programs that can support their livelihoods and financial needs.

The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK), Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), and Small Business Corporation (SBCorp) will offer bank account opening, financing, investment, and loan-related services, including consultations and assistance on various financial concerns.

For farmers and fisherfolk, the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) will facilitate on-site insurance enrollment for eligible beneficiaries and assist with claims inquiries.

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) will provide information on assets available for disposal and assist the public with inquiries on its programs and services, while the Privatization and Management Office (PMO) will provide information on National Government’s assets available for sale, as well as the process for interested individuals and investors to acquire them.

Among the new participating agencies are the DBP Leasing Corporation (DBPLC), which will provide information on finance leases for the purchase of equipment for business operations; the National Dairy Authority (NDA), which will conduct an information caravan featuring NDA programs and give milk product samples; and the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), which will offer consultation on rice production technologies and showcase rice seeds sample.

The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) will facilitate on-site fidelity bonding and marketing of Retail Treasury Bonds Tranche 32, while the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will also be available to assist with online report submission, provide on-site status verification of corporate applications, and offer corporate advisory services.

With 19 participating agencies, the Iloilo leg marks another step in expanding the GOCCs’ Service Caravan and bringing more government programs and services within reach of local communities.
