The Secretariat shall be responsible for the following:

1. Provide technical and administrative support to the National Credit Council, Executive Committee and the four (4) Sub-groups namely: agriculture, Ultra-poor, salaried and self-employed and small and medium enterprises (SMEs);

2. Review loan and project proposals with credit component, to fulfill the objective of rationalizing and optimizing the use and delivery of government credit programs, prior to endorsement to the Investment Coordinating Committee;

3. Coordinate and supervise the activities and/or programs of the USAID-funded Credit Policy Improvement Program (CPIP); and the ADB funded TA No. 3814 for the Microfinance for Rural Development Project;

4. Coordinate and provide technical and administrative support on the efforts to carry out the commitments of the Department in various poverty alleviation programs.
